Weed Nug Cake Balls

For 4/20, West Town Bakery teamed up with OKAY Cannabis to create a non-infused "canna cake ball nug." My idea was to design a cake ball that resembled a cannabis nugget—green, grassy, imperfectly shaped, and all. We sourced tiny mason jars that added a dispensary vibe to the packaging.

Chef Christopher Teixeira brought the concept to life with a blueberry vanilla mini cake ball that looked so realistic it could’ve been mistaken for an infused treat behind the glass at a dispensary.

These jars were sold throughout April at West Town Bakery, OKAY Cannabis, The Fifty/50 Sports Bar, and Utopian Tailgate, each with a voucher for a discount at OKAY.

The promotion was a hit on social media, and we saw a noticeable uptick in guest interest at all locations once the cake balls sold out.
